Bob Foley

Robert Foley was born and raised in Kittery, Maine. Bob graduated from Traip Academy and the University of Southern Maine with a degree in Political Science. Bob began his insurance career in 1977 with Allstate Insurance Company working as an auto claims adjusters, a property claims adjuster and subsequently being promoted to the Property Claims Manager.

In 1986 Bob Foley founded an Allstate sales office in Wells. In 1997, we asked Bob to join the Cole Harrison Agency, selling both personal lines and commercial insurance products. Today, Bob manages the Personal Lines Department at the Kennebunk office.

Bob obtained his Certified Insurance Counselors designation in 2002. The exam for this certificate required him to complete five rigorous training topics dealing with current insurance-related topics and risk management issues. To maintain this designation Bob attended an annual three-day training seminar focusing on several insurance related topics.

Bob is a very active community leader in the Town of Wells having served as a member of the Board of Selectmen, Charter Commission, Wells Rotary and the Wells Reserve Management Authority. He was elected to serve two terms in the Maine House of Representative and one term in the Maine State Senate before retiring in 2020. While serving in the state legislature Bob served on the Insurance and Financial Services Committee where his insurance knowledge and expertise were very valuable to the committee’s work. Bob was just recently elected once again to serve on the Wells Board of Selectmen.

Bob resides in Wells with his wife Maryanne. They have two sons with whom they are very proud of, a wonderful grandson and a granddaughter due August 2021. Bob will be retiring in December of 2022 after 45 years.
