This History of Cole Harrison Insurance

In 1882, Joseph Titcomb, a prominent Kennebunk shipbuilder and statesman, founded an insurance agency affiliated with Aetna Insurance Company to cover his ships and cargo at sea. The century that followed, heralded dramatic growth for the town. Boosted by Joseph's solid reputation, the agency grew rapidly at the hands of Titcomb's son-in-law Charles H. Cole and, in later years, his sons Joseph and Walter.

Joseph Cole's son Charles entered the firm following World War and obtaining his education at Bowdoin College. In 1959, Boston Old Colony Special Agent J. Frank Harrison joined the firm becoming a partner in 1970.

Today, the company is led by Jeffrey Cole, James Harrison and Robert Foley. Cole Harrison Insurance continues to grow, standing strong on the reputation and traditions set by Jeff and Jim's forefathers. The Cole Harrison Agency has evolved as one of southern Maine's largest and most reputable independent insurance providers, with its headquarters in Kennebunk, Maine. We have field offices in Carrabassett Valley and Kittery, Maine.
